Police say Jensen entered the intersection on a green light when she was struck by a 1997 Toyota that was making a U-turn. Jensen suffered head injuries that were fatal. Two passengers in the Toyota also suffered injuries, but are expected to survive. An investigation is underway into the cause of this fatal crash.

Mendez suffered fatal injuries after he was pinned between the vehicle and a wall inside the Starbucks. Also injured in this crash were Jose Iraheta of Lancaster and Thomas Michaels of Piru. Their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
