A car accident in Riverside the morning of January 4, 2011, resulted in injuries for two drivers, The Press-Enterprise reports. Police say the collision occurred between a Riverside Transit Authority bus and a semi-truck at the intersection of Market Street and Mission Inn Avenue. The drivers of the bus and truck were injured, but are expected to survive. Officials are looking into who had the right-of-way at the intersection at the time of the accident.

I'm relieved to hear that neither one of the drivers sustained major injuries in this truck versus bus accident. It is also fortunate that there were no passengers on board the bus. I wish both the drivers a swift and full recovery. They will be in my thoughts and prayers. Read More

A fiery truck accident in Victorville resulted in major injuries for one driver the night of December 8, 2010. The Victorville Daily Press reports that the major injury car accident happened on the 15 Freeway. A Honda Accord and Chevy Malibu crashed after the Chevy cut off the Honda. The Malibu had collided into the center divider and stalled when it was hit by a Honda Civic and a big-rig. The large truck caught fire. The driver, who was ejected from the big-rig just before it caught fire, was taken to an area hospital with severe injuries. Three other injuries were also reported in this crash. Read More

A Los Angeles area car accident resulted in injuries for four members of a local police department the night of November 29, 2010. The Long Beach Press-Telegram reports that the car accident involved an unmarked police vehicle and a pickup truck and happened at the intersection of Ocean and Long Beach boulevards in the city of Long Beach. Officials say that the pickup truck turned left in front of the police vehicle. Four police officers were injured, but are expected to survive. Read More

A rollover accident in the Coachella Valley left three people injured the morning of June 17, 2010, The Desert Sun reports. The major injury crash occurred near Chuckwalla Valley Road on the 10 Freeway when a car swiped a large truck and rolled over. Three of the car's occupants suffered major injuries including a child. All were transported to an area hospital for treatment. California Highway Patrol officials are investigating this accident. Read More

A car accident in Ventura involving a water truck and a car killed 22-year-old Alejandro Gonzalez and seriously injured his 55-year-old father, Bernardo Gonzalez Alfaro. The Ventura County Star reports that 43-year-old Arturo Cervantes was driving a water truck north on Pleasant Valley Road between Camarillo and Oxnard the morning of May 18, 2010 when he lost control after failing to notice traffic slowing ahead. The truck went over the double yellow lines of the roadway, into oncoming traffic lanes, and struck Gonzalez's car. Gonzalez died at the scene while Alfaro was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Read More

A driver who officials say was high on methamphetamine and talking on a hand-held cell phone caused a truck accident in Flag City, California the morning of February 1, 2010 as he plowed into seven parked cars. The Lodi News Sentinel reports that 39-year-old Robert Lee Michael Jr. was driving his big rig on Highway 12 and had turned onto Thornton Road when his door swung open because it wasn't properly latched. Michael, who wasn't wearing his seat belt, began to fall off out of the truck. Read More

A San Diego truck accident that occurred the morning of December 18, 2009, has left a 24-year-old bicyclist seriously injured, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. The major injury accident occurred at the intersection of Orange and Fairmount avenues in the City Heights area of San Diego. A semi-trailer apparently made a right turn from Orange on to Fairmount Avenue. The bicyclist, who was riding on the right side of the semi, got pinned under the right front tire of the big rig. He sustained major injuries to his lower body. The injuries are thankfully not life-threatening. Read More
