The Orange County Register reports that the accident occurred the afternoon of May 5, 2010. Le was crossing Ward Street when a driver traveling north on Ward struck him. Le died at the scene. Police in Compton say that a DUI collision the morning of April 25, 2010 led to the death of 16-year-old Chanel Lenard. An ABC News report states that Chanel and her friend were walking back home from a party when they were struck by a Mercury Voyager on 154th Street. The driver of the Voyager did not stop and fled from the scene of the crash. Police apprehended the driver thanks to tips from neighbors who saw the fatal pedestrian crash occur. Read More

A January 6, 2010 San Francisco car accident proved fatal for 54-year-old Feng Zhu, who was struck down in a marked crosswalk. The San Francisco Examiner reports that the fatal pedestrian collision occurred when Zhu was walking north on Sloat Boulevard near Forest View Drive. A teen skateboarder was critically injured in a San Diego car accident after he was hit while crossing the road, the night of December 28, 2009. According to a 10news report, the pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of East Vista Way and Arcadia Avenue. The 15-year-old boy was walking across East Vista Way when an SUV struck him and left the scene. The teenager suffered major head and internal injuries. A teenager who was killed in a San Bernardino car accident after she was struck by a vehicle, has been identified as 17-year-old Deanae Weatherall. The Victorville Daily Press reports that the accident occurred on the Outer Highway 18 in Apple Valley, the evening of December 20, 2009, when the girl was walking along the roadway. The female driver who struck Deanae stopped after the crash. Deanae was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. Alcohol or drugs were not a factor in this crash, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's officials. Two separate San Francisco car accidents have caused critical injures to pedestrians, who now appear to be fighting for their lives. According to a Bay City News report, both pedestrian-car collisions occurred within minutes of each other on the morning of December 21, 2009. The first involved a 54-year-old female pedestrian who was struck by a car at the intersection of Van Ness Avenue and Grove Street near City Hall. The second also involved a woman who was hit by a different vehicle in the area of Quint Street and Palou Avenue, in Bayview.
