ABC7 reports that the fatal hit-and-run crash occurred on Forest Lawn Drive in Griffith Park on February 12, 2012 when Bethune stopped her car and walked on to traffic lanes to recue an injured animal. That was when two vehicles hit her. One of the drivers did not stop at the scene of the crash. Officials have described the suspect vehicle only as a white car. Bethune died from her injuries. A 61-year-old man who was fatally injured in a car accident in San Bernardino has been identified by officials as Dennis Kelly Timms. ABC News reports that the deadly hit-and-run car accident occurred the night of February 8, 2012 in the city of Fontana in the 8500 block of Calabash Avenue.

Timms was apparently walking outside his nursing home when he was struck by a car. He died at the scene. But the vehicle that struck him failed to stop. Timms was dragged about 75 feet before the driver took off. Officials have described the hit-and-run vehicle as a champagne colored Lincoln Navigator with large chrome rims and tinted windows. California Highway Patrol officials are investigating the incident.

The Ventura County Star reports that the fatal collision happened the afternoon of January 16, 2012 near the intersection of Mills Road and Preble Avenue in Ventura. Police say Yamani's power scooter was hit by a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Andres Covarrubias, who then fled the scene. Yamani sustained major injuries. The Monrovia Patch reports that the injury hit-and-run collision occurred the evening of January 9, 2012 near Violet Avenue and Foothill Boulevard in Monrovia. Tetu was apparently struck from behind by a vehicle. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver fled the scene of the crash, but turned himself in to authorities an hour later. The driver, identified as 34-year-old Jason Travers, has been booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.

Police say Serrano was trying to cross the roadway at the intersection of Otay Lakes Road and Elmhurst Street in Chula Vista when she was hit by a car that was traveling north.
