A hit-and-run crash in Sacramento resulted in injuries for five people traveling in a minivan, including two children. According to a News10 report, the injury collision occurred on the Interstate 80 near Auburn Boulevard the morning of August 24, 2010 when a pickup truck crashed into a minivan. A hit-and-run crash on an Orange County freeway the morning of August 6, 2010, caused injuries to a motorcyclist. The Orange County Register reports that the injury crash occurred when the motorcyclist was struck by a large commercial truck on the southbound 405 freeway near the 73 Freeway onramp. The truck that hit the motorcyclist did not stop and left the scene of the accident. It is not clear how badly the motorcyclist was injured. An investigation is underway. Read More

A car accident in Colusa County the morning of July 3, 2010 resulted in injuries for 40-year-old Sean Birney. The Colusa County Sun-Herald reports that the injury collision occurred when 42-year-old Anita Bordelon, who was driving at a high rate of speed on the 5 Freeway, changed lanes and hit Birney's 1999 Jaguar. She left the scene of the accident, but was apprehended and arrested soon afterward. Bordelon was booked on suspicion of felony hit-and run. An investigation is ongoing. Read More

A man who was killed in a South Los Angeles hit-and-run collision on June 26, 2010, has been identified as 39-year-old Tyrone Jones. CBS News reports that Jones was struck near the intersection of 92nd Street and Broadway by a Chevy Lumina. He was pronounced dead at the scene, but the driver of the Lumina did not stop. A hit-and-run crash in Los Angeles left a motorcyclist with major injuries the night of May 22, 2010. The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports that the collision occurred at the intersection of Hacienda and Valley boulevards in the City of Industry when a driver later identified as 39-year-old Mario Dominguez, made a left turn in front of the motorcyclist. Dominguez then fled the scene of the crash, but was arrested shortly thereafter. He has also been charged with felony hit-and-run. Police in Carson have arrested a man in connection with a fatal bicycle accidents in that city, CBS News reports. Police arrested 40-year-old William Keith Square on suspicion of driving under the influence, vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run after he reportedly struck the man on the bicycle with his SUV the night of April 17, 2010 at the intersection of Santa Fe Avenue and East 218th Place. Officials say Square fled the scene, but was arrested shortly afterwards. The victim succumbed to his injuries after he was taken to an area hospital. Read More

Officials in Anaheim have arrested a 24-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run in connection with an Orange County car accident, which left a toddler injured. The Orange County Register reports that the collision occurred in the 700 block of Anaheim Boulevard the afternoon of March 16, 2010 when the father of the child parked his car and placed the boy on the sidewalk. The 2-year-old then walked on to the street and was hit by a Ford F-450. The boy sustained head injuries, but the driver of the pickup truck kept going. Paul Michael Stout, 20, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident and two others were injured after a driver rear-ended a vehicle on the 10 Freeway in El Monte and then fled the scene. The Whittier Daily News reports that the hit-and-run driver whom police are still looking for, was speeding in a 2005 BMW and rear-ended a 1998 International truck the morning of January 3, 2010. Stout, who was the front passenger in the BMW, died from his injuries. The driver of the truck and another passenger in the BMW also sustained injuries. Read More
