Two Sustain Serious Injuries in Los Angeles Car Accident
A Los Angeles car accident resulted in serious injuries for two women whose cars collided near an Azusa intersection. The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports that the car accident happened on Citrus Avenue near East Gladstone Street in Azusa when a Nissan pickup truck and a Dodge Neon collided. The driver of the Dodge Neon, identified as 51-year-old Cindy Barr and the driver of the Nissan, also a woman, were taken to an area hospital with critical injuries. Two children and one teenager were also transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Barr's fiancé Tom Lambert said Barr sustained serious injuries including broken ribs and a broken chest bone. Officials are still looking into what caused this horrific crash.

There were two fatalities and 249 injuries involving car accidents in Azusa, according to California Highway Patrol's 2007 traffic accident statistics. In Los Angeles County as a whole 712 fatalities and 56,475 injuries involving car accidents were reported in 2007.
What Caused this Car Accident?
Based on this news report, it is not clear who or what caused this serious injury accident. It's not clear whether the accident occurred at an intersection or when one of the drivers was pulling out of a driveway. It's quite possible that one of the drivers failed to yield right-of-way in this particular case. I trust officials are also looking into whether impairment, distractions or negligent driving may have played a part in this collision.
In such cases, it would be in the best interest of seriously injured victims and their families to contact an experienced catastrophic injury lawyer who will advise them and help them secure compensation to cover medical expenses, loss of wages, cost of hospitalization, rehabilitation and long-term care.
