A teenager who was killed in a San Bernardino car accident has been identified as 15-year-old Angelina Bandino. She was fatally injured and another unidentified victim was critically injured after they were reportedly struck by a pickup struck on Cottonwood Avenue near Mauna Loa Street in Hesperia the evening of November 17, 2009. Preliminary reports by the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department show that Angelina and two of her friends were walking legally on the shoulder of the road within designated areas when they were struck. Angelina was pronounced dead at the scene while the other victim was transported to an area hospital.
My deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Angelina Bandino. This must be a devastating blow to her family and just everyone who knew and loved this teenager. These victims and their families will certainly be in my prayers.

Liability Issues in Car Accidents
Based on this news report, it is not clear what caused the driver of the pickup truck to crash into these girls who were apparently walking exactly where they were supposed to have been walking at the time of the collision. There are many things that could have happened. The driver may have lost control of his pickup truck because of impairment, a distraction, a medical condition or some other act of negligence. There may have been a dangerous condition on the roadway, which may have caused or contributed to this tragedy. Whatever the cause, the Bandino family and the loved ones of the other victim who was critically injured, deserve answers in this case.
