An elderly man has sustained serious injuries in a Los Angeles car accident, after he was hit by a car while walking across the road in a marked crosswalk. According to a news report in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the 89-year-old man was crossing at the intersection of South Orange Avenue and Durness Street the morning of December 15, when he was struck. The driver apparently told police that he did not see the man crossing the street. The injured victim suffered major head injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
