A car accident in Orange County resulted in fatal injuries for 23-year-old Deanna Mauer of Fountain Valley. The Orange County Register reports that the car accident happened in the northbound lanes of the 405 Freeway in Westminster the morning of April 27, 2011. California Highway Patrol officials say the fatal car accident occurred when a 2006 Toyota rear-ended a 2006 Hyundai, which in turn crashed into a 2000 Porsche. Mauer, the driver of the Hyundai, sustained fatal injuries. Two others sustained minor injuries. Officials are investigating the cause of the rear-end collision.

A passenger who was fatally injured in a car accident in Los Angeles has been identified by officials as 28-year-old Jaime Angelina Jones. The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports that the fatal truck accident occurred the morning of April 27, 2011 on the Interstate 210 near Irwindale Avenue in Irwindale.

California Highway Patrol officials say Jones was a passenger in a 2008 Kia, which was disabled after a solo crash. The car was then struck by a truck driven by a 60-year-old man. Two other women were able to exit the car, but Jones was unable to do so and was fatally injured on impact. An investigation is ongoing.

A 12-year-old girl who is in a medically-induced coma after a Los Angeles car accident has been identified by officials as Kailyn Williams. CBS News reports that the bicycle accident happened on West Arbutus Street in Compton on April 22, 2011. Police say Kailyn was riding her bike and was struck by a Chrysler Concorde driven by Thomas Abraham Long. Long was booked on suspicion of felony DUI.

A 55-year-old pedestrian was fatally injured in a Los Angeles car accident after he attempted to cross the Antelope Valley Freeway. According to a news report in the Los Angeles Daily News, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred the night of April 24, 2011 on the 14 Freeway in Lancaster, near Avenue K. The man was crossing eastbound on the northbound side of the freeway when he was hit by a vehicle. The driver did not stop and kept going. The pedestrian died at the scene. California Highway Patrol officials are looking for the hit-and-run driver. Anyone with information or a description of the hit-and-run vehicle is asked to call CHP at 661-948-8541.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the major injury collision occurred on State Route 76 near Gird Road in Fallbrook when the driver of a Ford pickup truck carrying pesticides lost control of the truck and crashed head-on into a Dodge Ram. The driver of the Dodge Ram suffered critical injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The 35-year-old driver of the Ford sustained minor injuries. Officials are looking into why the driver of the Ford crossed into opposing lanes of traffic and caused the head-on collision.

A teenager who was killed in a car accident in Los Angeles the night of April 20, 2011, has been identified by authorities as 17-year-old Alex Romero. ABC News reports that the fatal bicycle accident, which involved a hit-and-run driver, happened at the intersection of De Soto Avenue and Valerio Street when Alex's bike was rear-ended by another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, described as a gray Toyota Corolla hatchback, fled the scene. LAPD officials are looking for the hit-and-run driver.

A car accident in Los Angeles proved fatal for a 42-year-old pedestrian the morning of April 18, 2011. CBS News reports that the fatal pedestrian accident happened at the intersection of California Street and Pacific Boulevard in Walnut Park. Police say Luis Jimenez, 23, ran a stop sign at the intersection, lost control of his vehicle and struck a pedestrian who was walking on the sidewalk. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and Jimenez was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving and gross vehicular manslaughter.

A motorcyclist sustained major injuries in a car accident in Orange County after he was struck by a vehicle at a street intersection. The Orange County Register reports that the serious injury accident occurred at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street in Seal Beach, when the 40-year-old motorcyclist was struck by a small-size pickup truck. The motorcyclist sustained head injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening. Officials are looking into what caused this injury crash.
