A 52-year-old woman was fatally injured in a pedestrian accident in Pasadena after she was struck by a Jaguar sedan that went out of control. The Pasadena Star-News reports that the fatal accident happened near the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Howard Street the evening of January 27, 2011. The Jaguar swerved and crashed into a sidewalk before trapping the woman, who was in an electric wheelchair, against a wall. She was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is ongoing.

A car accident in Los Angeles resulted in injuries for two people the morning of January 25, 2011. A City News Service report states that the injury accident involving a Metro Orange Line Bus and a Toyota Corolla occurred near the intersection of Woodley Avenue and Victory Boulevard in Van Nuys. Officials suspect the Corolla ran a red light at the intersection prior to crashing into the bus. It is not clear if any of the victims was severely injured.

A car accident in Newport Beach resulted in critical injuries for two people the morning of January 24, 2011. The Orange County Register reports that the major injury car accident happened at the intersection of Newport Boulevard and Hospital Road when two vehicles collided. Two were taken to a hospital in critical condition while one other person suffered relatively minor injuries. One person was ejected. An investigation is ongoing.

Apparently, these victims are still in critical condition in the hospital. My heart goes out to the two victims and their families. I wish them the very best for a quick and complete recovery. They will be in my prayers.

A car accident in Orange County resulted in critical injuries for two children and serious injuries for two others including a driver. The Orange County Register reports that the injury car accident happened at the intersection of Valencia and Golden avenues in Placentia.

Police say the incident began when a Toyota Sienna minivan turned left in front of a Toyota Prius. The Prius then went out of control and hit four children who were standing on a sidewalk at the intersection. Three children were taken to area hospitals, two with traumatic injuries. One of the children was uninjured. The young victims ranged in age from 7 to 12. The driver of the Prius was also injured. An investigation is ongoing.

A fiery car accident in Los Angeles left at least one person injured the night of January 22, 2011, the Los Angeles Daily News reports. The accident happened on the 405 Freeway near Burbank Boulevard in Van Nuys. California Highway Patrol officials say a vehicle had stalled in the number three lane when it was struck from behind by a second vehicle. The stalled vehicle caught fire and its occupant was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officials are looking into what caused this car accident.

A suspected DUI collision in Buena Park left two 15-year-old boys severely injured the afternoon of January 20, 2011, The Orange County Register reports. Police say that the injury pedestrian accident happened on Beach Boulevard when the two boys were walking home from school on the 5 Freeway overpass. A Chevy Astro van driven by 53-year-old Gilbert Armando Gonzalez jumped the curb and struck the two boys. Both teens were taken to a local hospital with critical injuries. Officials say it appears that Gonzalez suffered a seizure. But he has also been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

I certainly hope that these two boys have not been catastrophically injured. I pray that they both recover quickly and completely from whatever injuries they have sustained.

A pedestrian accident in Pacifica resulted in injuries for an elderly pedestrian whom officials identified as 70-year-old Mei Song. The Pacifica Patch reports that the injury car accident occurred at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Old County Road. Song was walking in a marked crosswalk at the intersection when she was hit by a Fed Ex delivery truck that was making a turn. Song was taken to an area hospital with injuries, and is expected to survive. An investigation is ongoing.

It is indeed fortunate that Mei Song did not sustain major or life-threatening injuries in this pedestrian accident. I pray that she recovers quickly and completely from the injuries she has sustained.

A bicycle accident in Garden Grove proved fatal for an 80-year-old man the morning of January 18, 2011. The Orange County Register reports that the deadly accident happened the near the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Jennrich Avenue, when the driver of a Ford F-250 pickup truck, pulling out of a parking lot, hit the bicyclist. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have identified the driver as a 36-year-old Huntington Beach man. An investigation is ongoing.
