A hit-and-run crash in Ontario the afternoon of June 28, 2010 seriously injured a long-time police technician at a local intersection. The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports that the injury collision occurred at the intersection of Walnut Street and Baker Avenue when a white Dodge Durango southbound on Baker ran a stop sign and struck the police technician's car that was going east on Walnut. The Durango left the scene of the crash. The technician was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, but he is expected to survive. A man who was killed in a South Los Angeles hit-and-run collision on June 26, 2010, has been identified as 39-year-old Tyrone Jones. CBS News reports that Jones was struck near the intersection of 92nd Street and Broadway by a Chevy Lumina. He was pronounced dead at the scene, but the driver of the Lumina did not stop. A car accident in San Bernardino fatally injured a California Highway Patrol officer identified as 28-year-old Justin McGrory. CBS News reports that the car crash occurred on the 15 Freeway in Barstow the morning of June 27, 2010 when the officer had made a traffic stop. A vehicle driven by 18-year-old Rafael Garcia, veered off the roadway, entered the right shoulder where McGrory was administering a field sobriety test to another driver, and hit him. A car crash in San Francisco proved fatal for a woman whose vehicle was broadsided by a pickup truck on a St. Helena roadway. According to an ABC News report, the fatal crash occurred on the Silverado trail when the Lexus that the woman was driving was involved in a broadside crash with a Ford pickup truck. She was transported to a local medical center where she was pronounced dead. Three occupants of the pickup truck were also hurt, but the extent of their injuries is not known. Authorities have identified the 51-year-old driver who died in a car accident after crashing his car on the Highway 101 the night of June 20, 2010, as Michael Charles McAdams. The Daily Sound reports that McAdams was driving a 2001 Mercedes north on Highway 101 when he lost control, swerved and went into opposing lanes of traffic where he collided with Dodge Ram truck and a Toyota 4Runner. A car accident in Los Angeles proved fatal for a woman on a Northridge street the morning of June 21, 2010. The Los Angeles Daily News reports that the fatal car crash occurred at the intersection of Reseda Boulevard and Devonshire Street where the victim was stopped to make a turn. At the time, police officials say, her Infiniti SUV was rear-ended by a speeding Mercedes that was eastbound on Devonshire. The impact of the crash caused the SUV to ignite. The driver, who was the only occupant of the SUV, died at the scene. The driver of the Mercedes was critically injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. There were no other injuries. A DUI collision the morning of June 20, 2010 resulted in the death of 20-year-old Ruben C. Vasquez. According to a news report in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, Vasquez was driving on the 60 freeway near Chino when he was rear-ended by 33-year-old Daniel Rosas. Officials say Rosas was operating his vehicle under the influence. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Vasquez was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after the accident. A San Bernardino car accident caused by a suspected drunk driver caused serious injuries to Bruce Grund, 58, Christina Grund and Amy Bowser the morning of June 13, 2010, officials said. The Hi Desert Star reports that 41-year-old Sheila Paderes drove a 2001 Dodge Neon through a red light and struck Grund's 2003 Chevy pickup.
