A 26-year-old man sustained serious injuries in a San Diego car accident after he was hit by a vehicle, outside a Chula Vista restaurant. 10News reports that the incident occurred early morning on February 11, 2010 when the man, who was standing in the parking lot outside the Agave Grill, was struck down by a red, 1990s model Chevrolet Camaro. The driver fled the scene of the collision. The victim got up and went home because he felt fine at the time. But officials say several hours later he did not feel well and was taken to the hospital where it was discovered that he had sustained head injuries and internal bleeding as a result of the crash. Two victims who were killed in a San Bernardino car accident were identified by local authorities as Jose Gilbert Garcia, 42 and his 16-year-old nephew Luis Alberto Garcia. The fatal car accident occurred the morning of February 6, 2010 when their vehicle was struck by a driver who was trying to evade police officers, the Whittier Daily News reports. Police officers were chasing 26-year-old Luis Lazalde as he headed west on Orchard Street in Montclair. Lazalde's car then crashed into a Ford Contour driven by Jose Garcia. A 77-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries in a San Francisco pedestrian accident after she was hit by a city bus while crossing the street. According to a news report in the San Francisco Examiner, the major injury collision occurred on the afternoon of February 9, 2010 at the intersection of San Bruno Avenue and Burrows Street. A motorcyclist who was fatally injured in a Huntington Beach car accident has been identified as 58-year-old Richard Ciancone. The Orange County Register reports that the fatal motorcycle accident occurred the morning of February 7, 2010. Ciancone was westbound on Heil Avenue near Bradbury Lane, when 19-year-old Nathan Bower who was driving a Honda Element turned left in front of the motorcycle. A 41-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in San Jose car accident has been identified as Patrick Rogers. The San Jose Mercury News reports that the man was riding his 1999 Harley-Davidson west on Cherry Avenue at Geomax Court in San Jose, when he rear-ended a 2005 Cadillac Escalade driven by 51-year-old Christopher Caprino. The driver of the SUV was stopped on Cherry to turn right into an apartment complex. Police are saying based on a preliminary investigation that Caprino may not have been at fault, but he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Read More

A Long Beach motorcycle accident that occurred the morning of February 2, 2010 resulted in the death of the rider. According to a news report in The Press Telegram, the deadly motorcycle crash happened at the eastbound 91 Freeway transition to the southbound lanes of the 710 Freeway. A driver who officials say was high on methamphetamine and talking on a hand-held cell phone caused a truck accident in Flag City, California the morning of February 1, 2010 as he plowed into seven parked cars. An 82-year-old woman identified by authorities as Elsie "Alice" Stefani, 82, was killed in a San Francisco car accident after she was hit while crossing a street legally in a marked crosswalk, in Saint Helena. Bay City News reports that the fatal pedestrian accident occurred the evening of January 28, 2010 at the intersection of Main and Fulton Street. Stefani was hit by a car driven by 52-year-old Therene Pierrette, who was turning north from Madrona Drive, failed to yield right-of-way to the pedestrian and struck the elderly woman from behind. Two women were injured in an Orange County car accident after one vehicle crossed into opposing traffic lanes and struck another, the afternoon of January 28, 2010. The Orange County Register reports that the accident occurred when the 24-year-old driver of a Buick who was traveling east on Santiago Canyon Road veered into opposing traffic lanes and collided head-on with a Porsche Cayenne. Police said that the driver of the Buick had to be extricated from her vehicle and was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
