Two people were hospitalized after a Los Angeles car accident, which sent an SUV crashing into a building in Torrance, California. The Daily Breeze reports that the December 2, 2009 car accident occurred at the intersection of 178th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard. Two vehicles hit each other at the intersection and the impact of the crash propelled the SUV into the building on Crenshaw. Thankfully, no one else was injured in the accident. The two drivers were taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

An 18-year-old woman who was killed in a Los Angeles car accident has been identified as Elizabeth Amstone. The teenager was a passenger in a 1995 Acura Integra whose 17-year-old driver lost control and crashed the vehicle on the 605 Freeway in Irwindale the morning of December 1, 2009. The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports that the driver, Deshawn Johnson, was going south near Arrow Highway when the vehicle went off the roadway and rolled over on the shoulder. Amstone was thrown out of the vehicle and fell partially on to the freeway lane. California Highway Patrol officials, who are investigating the crash, are not sure how fast Deshawn was going or whether Amstone was buckled up. Amstone was pronounced dead at the scene while Deshawn sustained relatively minor injuries to his hand and leg.

A 23-year-old man who sustained major injuries in a Riverside car accident, has been identified as 23-year-old Derek Short. According to a news report in The Press Enterprise, the accident occurred the afternoon of November 28, 2009, when Short was pushing a disabled SUV along North Sunrise Way near Via Escuela. That was apparently when 52-year-old Seth Arsenault struck Short, rear-ending the SUV. Short sustained severe injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Police suspect that Arsenault was driving under the influence of alcohol.

One man was injured in an Orange County car accident after a driver lost control of a Ford Explorer SUV, which was towing a camping trailer. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the Explorer went out of control and overturned along with a trailer the morning of November 27, 2009 on the northbound 241 toll road at Los Alisos Boulevard in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. One person, a passenger in the SUV, was transported to an area hospital, but it is not clear how badly he was injured. The accident is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
