Man Killed in Orange County Car Accident
A man who was killed in a Newport Beach car accident the evening of December 24, 2009, has been identified as 24-year-old Ralph Abinader. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, this fatal car accident occurred when the Ferrari in which Abinader was a passenger went out of control on Pacific Coast Highway and slammed into a tow truck. Authorities say this fatal accident may have been caused by excessive speed, but they do not believe the driver of the Ferrari was under the influence at the time. The Ferrari's driver, whose name has not yet been released, sustained critical injuries in the accident while two people inside the tow truck suffered minor injuries.
My heart goes out to everybody who knew and loved Ralph Abinader. I offer my deepest sympathies to his family for their tragic, sudden and untimely loss. I also hope and pray that the injured victims of this car accident recover quickly and completely.

What Caused This Car Accident?
Based on this news report, it appears that speed may have been a factor in this crash. Still there are many questions here that remain unanswered. Were there any auto product defects or malfunctions in the vehicle that led to the accident? Was the Ferrari involved in a speed contest with another vehicle at the time of the crash? Was there a dangerous condition on the roadway, which caused or contributed to this tragic car accident? I trust officials are looking into these and other factors in determining what caused this car crash.
